DELHI – If trees and streets could talk, the stories that would pour out of Delhi would keep listeners mesmerized for years. You can get no better insight into the diversity of India than from its capital—where the old and new, cultural and contemporary, rural and urban, all blend harmoniously. While Old Delhi is a maze of narrow serpentine lanes lined with shops, the new city is a bustling metropolis, replete with shopping malls, and wide-open spaces.

AGRA – Known worldwide as the home of the Taj Mahal, Agra was the seat of the Imperial Mughal court during the 16th and 17th centuries, before the capital was shifted to Delhi. Located on the banks of the Yamuna and along the Grand Trunk Road, Agra flourished under the patronage of the Mughal emperors as a centre of art, with each ruler creating a new school and form, and architecture – that borrowed inspiration from Persian, Islamic, Turkish, Byzantine and Indian styles.

JAIPUR – The main gateway to the splendor and magic of Rajasthan is a labyrinth of fascinating bazaars, opulent palaces and historic sights. It is the first planned city of North India, which today is a unique synthesis of the traditional and modern. Providing a stunning backdrop to the Pink City are the ancient forts and palaces, which paint a dramatic picture of a bygone era

UDAIPUR – The fairy-tale city, with its marble palaces and lakes, is surrounded by a ring of hills and dominated by the massive City Palace, which overlooks Lake Pichola with its romantic island palaces. Picturesque havelis and temples line the lakefront with the lively bazaars of the old walled city stretching behind them.  The city’s inherent romance and beauty and its remarkable past continue to enthrall one and all.

AHEMDABAD – The Rann of Kutch is a geographically unique landscape that was once an arm of the Arabian Sea. As the land separated from the sea by geological forces, it became a vast, featureless plain encrusted with salt that is inundated with water during the rains. Today, Ahmedabad is India’s fifth largest city and the home of a developing textile industry.

BARODA  – Vadodara, also known as Baroda, is the third largest city in the Indian State of Gujarat, The first noted history of the city was of the early trader settlers who settled in the region in 812 AD. The province was mainly Hindu-dominated with Hindu kings ruling till the year 1297.

Day 1  :     ARRIVAL DELHI

On arrival at the Delhi International Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to Hotel.   Overnight in Delhi

Day 2  :   EXPLORE DELHI

Begin your day with a visit to Old Delhi to the 17th century Jama Masjid or Friday Mosque. This grand mosque with imposing marble domes and twin minarets was built in1656. A magnificent flight of sand stone steps lead to the great arched entrance.

Thereafter take an exhilirating rickshaw ride from Jama Masjid through the narrow lanes of the old city, Chandni Chowk, terminating at the ramparts of the Red Fort. The Bazaars of Old Delhi are legendary with narrow streets lined with shops and goods spilling on to the pavements.

Free for Lunch.

Visit the famous Sikh Temple, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in the company of your local guide.  The highlight would be the visit to the community kitchen where volunteers work and feed thousands of devotees daily – the food is offered free to one and all.

Later drive toHumayun’s Tomb, the 16th Century tomb of the 2nd Mughal Emperor Humayun’s. Tucked away in the heart of Delhi is this treasure trove of history spread over 100 acres of beautiful greens.  This was the first garden tomb on the Indian subcontinent and is said to have inspired the design of the Taj Mahal.   Overnight in Delhi.

Day 3 :        DELHI

After Breakfast play golf at Delhi Golf Club which has 18-hole 72 par and 7036 yards long course.
After lunch drive through New Delhi with a stop at India Gate and Parliament buildings for photo opportunities The 42 metre high, free standing arch known as India Gate was designed by Edward Lutyen and built in 1931 in memory of the Indian soldiers who died in World War I.

Rest of the day will be at leisure.  Overnight in Delhi

Day 4 :     DELHI / AGRA (04  hours approx)
Meals Included: Breakfast

Breakfast at hotel and drive to Agra, On arrival check into hotel.
Afternoon visit Agra Fort, built in 1565 by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar and developed later by his successors.  The fort was a military structure and later partially became a Palace during the reign of Emperor Shah Jehan, who built the Taj Mahal.

Overnight in Agra.

Day 5 :     AGRA

In the morning, play golf at Agra golf club near Taj Mahal which has 9-hole 72 par and 3000 yards long course.
Evening visit the Taj at sunset.(Friday Closed).
Considered the pinnacle of Mughal art in India, the Taj was built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. When declaring it a world heritage site, UNESCO described it as “the jewel of Muslim art in India”. There are few words that can describe the magnificence of this monument.

Day 6 :      AGRA / FATEHPUR SHIKRI / JAIPUR (06 hours approx)

Early breakfast at hotel then drive to Jaipur with an en route stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the 16th century capital of the Mughal rulers abandoned due to water scarcity in the area. The great Mughal Emperor Akbar had a dream to build a beautiful capital city that the world would remember.
Drive to Bharatpur and stop for lunch(Direct Payment).
After lunch drive to Jaipur, enroute visit Chand  Bauli at Habaneri (step well) and on arrival check into the hotel.

Day 7 :     EXPLORE JAIPUR
Meals Included:   Breakfast

Begin your day with a visit to the sprawling hilltop, Amber Fort  with its royal apartments, halls and dramtic views.It is superbly located and protected by wild Aravali Hills on all sides. The citadel was established in 1592 by Raja Mansingh 1 on the remains of an old 11th century fort.

OPTIONAL In the evening drive to Dera Amer (45 minute drive) and enjoy a private elephant safari through the somnolent countryside.  The colossal size of the elephant, its playful antics, graceful gait and the wisdom of its eyes move all who are lucky enough to spend time with them.
Afterwards convene at a country farm house belonging to a renowned Jaipur family for Dinner. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 8  :     JAIPUR

Morning play Golf at RAMBAGH GOLF CLUB which ha18-hole 70 par and 6123 yards long course.
Return to the city and visit the City Palace which was an integral part of Raja Sawai Jai Singh’s new city of Jaipur. Today it’s a museum that displays some of the finest collection of paintings, costumes, carpets and armory of that period.
Nearby is the ornate Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) – a delightfully idiosyncratic five-tier composition of arches and balconies and the Astronomical Observatory built by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II is amongst the most accurate and well kept.

In the evening option to explore the colorful, chaotic bazaars of the city. Overnight in Jaipur

Day 9 :   JAIPUR / UDAIPUR (6 hours drive)
Meals Included:  Breakfast, Lunch

After Breakfast drive to Udaipur with enroute stop for lunch at Bijay Niwas Palace – the charming heritage hotel is hidden amidst private farmlands and orchard.
Continue your drive and on arrival check into hotel.

Evening at leisure to relax after your long drive. Overnight in Udaipur

Day 10 :   EXPLORE UDAIPUR

This morning explore the City Palace, a blend of stern Rajput military architecture on the outside and lavish Mughal inspired decorative art on the inside. This is the largest palace in Rajasthan covering an area of 5 acres and built between the 16th and 20th centuries.

The older section of the City Palace complex dates back to 1568 and has a maze of royal apartments and courtyards.  They are linked to each other by narrow passages, a typical feature of Rajput Palaces of that period, designed to confuse invaders.

Return to your hotel and afternoon at leisure
In the evening proceed on a boat ride on Lake Pichola and see the city of Udaipur rise majestically above the lake in the middle of Rajasthan desert. Overnight in Udaipur

Day 11 : UDAIPUR  / AHMEDABAD (5 hours drive)

Breakfast at hotel and drive to Ahmedabad and on arrival check into HOTEL

In the afternoon visit the Sabarmati Ashram, also known as Gandhi Ashram located on the banks of river Sabarmati. This was one of the residences of Mahatma Gandhi and it was from here that he orchestrated the final struggle for India’s freedom. Later sightseeing of Siddi Saiyad Mosque and Hatheesing Temple.
Hatheesingh Temple was built in 1850 by a Jain merchant.  This intricately carved marble temple has a paved courtyard with 52 cubicles housing shrines.

Complete your day with meditation on the river back at sunset. Dinner and overnight in Ahmedabad.

Day 12 :     AHMEDABAD / BARODA (2 hours drive)

After lunch , visit The Lakshmi Vilas Palace, an extravagant building of the Indo-Saracenic school, was built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in 1890 at a cost of GBP180,000. Major Charles Mant was the architect.

Also visit Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum is a museum housed within the Maharaja”s palace (the Lakshmi Vilas Palace) and Museum to view several Raja Ravi Verma originals paintings- the royal family of Baroda has a notable collection of his works.
Evening visit Kirti Mandir, known for its exquisite architecture and is known to be the resting place for the royal family of the Gaekwads. Within the complex of the Kirti Mandir art exhibitions are held.

Overnight in Baroda

Day 14 :   BARODA  Departure
Meals Included:   Breakfast

Transfer with assistance to the airport to board flight for Mumbai or Delhi.
Arrive Delhi / Mumbai with  assistance and transfer to  International Airport.
